Alcohol
1. How it works- Alcohol has a very parodoxical effect-in small doses it acts as a stimulant, that gives you energy, pumps you up, but after a few more drinks it can act as a depressant (The next thing you know your passed out on someones coach.)
2. How it effects you- Alcohol gives you brain damage, and cirrhosis of the liver. It effects your decision making and the way you think, in another words it takes over your body
3. Risks- With beer and wine the volume that you drink to get you messed up helps you to limit the dose-take the alcohol in successive small doses until you reach your desired ammount. You can hurt and even kill yourself when your drunk depending on how much alcohol is drunk by someone because your body gets numb and you wouldn't feel it . You could get arressted if you get caught driving under the influence. You can hurt people physically and mentally and they could hurt you without you realizing it.
3. Side Effects- Alcohol messes up your whole organ system, you could get lung cancer and brain damage.
4. Addicton- Alcohol is very addicting towards teens and its hard to get off because of the denile teens go through.
5. Withdrawal- Your body gets used to the alcohol and it becomes a necessity to your body. If it doesn't get the alcohol you could get really sick.
6. Overdose- When a person overdoses on alcohol it is known as being drunk. Assuming that you survive the drunkeness you will most likely wake up with a hangover. Hangovers partially are evolved from dehydration.
How it works-
Hallucinogenic drugs are substances that distort the perception or objective reality.
Effects-
Everyone reacts differently to these drugs so it is impossible to predict if you will have a good or bad trip.
Risks-
Hallucinogens can produce delusions and visual hallucinations which can sometimes be frightening and cause panic.
Side Effects-
-Dialate pupils
-Higher body temperature
-Increase heart rate and blood pressure
-Sweating
-Loss of appetite
-Sleeplessness
-Tumors
You can also experience hallucinations years later from taking LSD or PCP etc.
Addiction-
Hallucinogens are not addicting.
Withdrawal-
There is no withdrawal but you may experience further hallucinations even when you are not using LSD or PCP
or any other hallucinogens.
Overdose-
A situation might become beyond your control and a person (who is there) has no other choice but to call 911.
1. How it works-
When you smoke marijuana you do not exhale. The smoke is inhaled deeply in your lungs and then heald there for a few moments. Once it is in the lungs it is absorbed through the tiny blood veins called capillaries and delivered almost immediately
to your blood.
2. How it effects you-
Marijuana effects the way you think. It makes you giggly, light headed and hungry. (It relaxes you and increases your tendency to see the humor in situations and gives you the munchies)
3. Risks-
Marijuana can give you lung cancer, heart disease, bronchitits, emphysema, and arterial disease. If you are caught smoking this at school you could get suspended and anywhere else arrested because it is illegal! You can get hurt if your not with the right kind of people
Someone could try to take advantage of you and you could get raped or beaten.
4. Side effects-
Marijuana effects your judgement and makes your eyes half way closed and all red.
5. Addiction-
Scientists have yet to figure out if Marijuana has an addiction rate.
6. Withdrawal-
There are no withdrawals to marijuana
7. Overdose-
It would take a least a couple of days to clear your system. This actually brings up the essential problem of getting high, constantly allows you to sit on your butt for the longest time. You loss your motivation and your desire to do things. At the same time you are gradually
losing your ability to tolerate life without it.
You got drunk and passed out. The next day you woke up and were in jail. Your parents came and picked you up and you got in big trouble.
